GREENORE GOLF CLUB IS SITUATED HALF WAY BETWEEN DUBLIN AND BELFAST IN THE PICTURESQUE COOLEY PENINSULA IN NORTH CO. LOUTH, IRELAND.
Greenore Golf Club is on the shores of Carlingford Lough with magnificent views of Slieve Foy Mountain and the Mourne Mountains. Greenore Golf Club was founded in 1896 and is steeped in interesting golfing history. The golf course was first opened with 12 holes in October 1896 and the following year was extended to 18 holes. Its purpose was for recreation for the hotel guests and to generate passenger travel on the railway for people to play golf from both Dundalk and Newry. The Course is only a five mintue drive from Carlingford which is an idea place to stay and play golf.
Greenore is a magnificent course with a good mix of traditional links and heathland terraine. An excellent test of Golf with challenging but fair approach shots into well manicured links type greens. These are well bunkered with water in play on some holes with spectacular back drops.
This 18 hole championship links course offers a challenge to every type of golfer. Greenore has its own club professional and a top of the range golf shop with all the major brands.
The course is non exclusive – all Green fees, Groups and Golfing Societies are welcome
